Fort Amherst is located on the A231, postcode ME4 4UB, that runs from Chatham to Gillingham and is close to both Town centres. It's also just a short walk away from Chatham Historic Dockyard and The Royal Engineers Museum.

Regular bus and coach servics pass the fort gates. Arriva Medway Towns Bus Nos: 100, 101, 113, 140, 141, 151, 191 & 327.Coaches from London and surrounding areas call at the Pentagon Bus Station (10 minutes walk).

Frequent mainline train services from London Victoria, Charing Cross and the Kent coast to Chatham Station (20 minutes walk).

Parking at the fort is limited and will be used for the participant/performers and the disabled. There are many other public car parks around.
