Directions to Mount Edgcumbe Event - Google Maps link here
By Road - Satellite Navigation PL10 1HX avoiding St. John.
Head South West on the M5, or,
Heading South West on the A303 to:
turn off at the Ilminster roundabout, up A358, to pick-up M5 at junction 25
or, to continue on to merge with the A30 and pick-up M5 at junction 29
As M5 ends stay right and continue on the A38 signed Plymouth, Torquay,
do not go left onto A30 signed Bodmin
Further on you’ll need to stay right again and continue on the A38 signed Plymouth,
do not go left onto A380 signed Torquay, Paignton
Continuing on the A38 to Plymouth and you will go over flyover with a Sainsbury Superstore with a unique and very distinctive roof/canopy looking like yacht sails below left with the blue sign of the Novotel on the right and above that an artificial ski-slope.
3 junctions after this you have the choice of either:
turning left to catch the Torpoint Ferry
or, going on, to cross the Tamar Bridge.
Catching the Torpoint Ferry – less distance, more complicated, might take longer, depending on the time of day, the consequent number of ferries operating, and at what intervals. The route to the Torpoint Ferry is well sign posted and if you miss signs, you’ll soon come across others leading you back.
Once over the Tamar by ferry (you’ll see a Bandits, Brigands & Buccaneers banner on the control tower as you pass), carry on straight through the Torpoint town, to Anthony, to then turn left by the Ring O Bells pub, signed to Millbrook. Ask your sat’ nav’ to avoid St. Johns, if you turn off from the Anthony/Millbrook route you’re liable to get stuck “head-to-head” along very, very narrow high banked lanes. You’ve been Warned!
Once at the Tregantle Fort T-Junction turn left to Millbrook and on to Mount Edgcumbe – big Bandits, Brigands & Buccaneers banner should be to your left.

Continuing over the Tamar Bridge – longer distance (not much), less complicated, over the bridge, through the Saltash Tunnel, along the A38 sign posted to Liskard, through the villages of Landrake and Tideford to the Trerulefoot roundabout (Kernow Mill). Turn left along the A374 signed Mount Edgcumbe/Torpoint (if you pass the Bandits, Brigands & Buccaneers banner, you’ll have gone round too far) through Polbathic and along the banks of the River Lynher to then turn right, up on the B3247, to Crafthole. Continue past the Tregantle Fort junction with Bandits, Brigands & Buccaneers banner.

Continue on down and through Millbrook and onwards to Mount Edgcumbe with Plymouth Sound to your left. Past Maker Church and public parking on your right and then down through trees to the Mount Egdcumbe gates on your right. Go through these and onto estate roads and follow signs to your camping area as indicated on the attached aerial map.
