Further Rules – Militia, Medals & Rank

Whilst members of the Militia may not be able to join in the game in terms of: -
contributing to the Treasure Chest of the outlaw group that wins end of game coin-count;
or individually to become the “most wanted.”
They do get to see whether they can ensure that the Town Treasury, in reality, wins through the collection of tolls & taxes, whilst, individually they can win the most medals, with ties decided by who has risen most through the ranks, as follows: -

Medals to be won for taking the fight to the enemy, as witnessed, and recorded by ref/monks or a commanding officer

Military Medal of Merit - for meritorious conduct in at least 4 actions of arrest or retrieval
as nominated by commanding officers and/or ref/monks.
This is a replica of the Military Service French Revolutionary & Napoleonic Wars Medal 1793 to 1814 with Badajoz Clasp -19th January 1812

Military Order of Distinction - for distinguished conduct in at least 6 actions of arrest or retrieval.
This is a replica of the Waterloo Medal awarded to those having taken part in the battles of Ligny 16th June, Quatre 16th June and Waterloo 18th June 1815

The Scum Slayer Silver - for the highest number of outlaw kills in fair fights and battles
as verified/testified by ref/monks.
This is a replica of the Naval Service Medal French Revolutionary & Napoleonic Wars 1793 to 1815 with Trafalgar Clasp - 21st October 1805

The Brigand Bane Gold - for the highest award for Bravery in Battle as nominated by ref/monks or a commanding officer.
This is a replica of the Army Gold Medal awarded for actions in the Peninsular Wars 1806 to 1814


Members of the Militia will also be able to rise through the ranks by leading and initiating actions in the field as follows: -

Rise of 1 non-com rank for Spotting a robbery in progress and initating the successful arrest & capture of the outlaw perpetrators
Rise from non com to commission or rise of 1 commissioned rank for

Leading a unit in at least 2 actions to successfully arrest and capture a known outlaw

Rise of 1 non-com rank for Spotting a location/delivery/collection under attack and initiating its successful relief/defence
Rise from non com to commission or rise of 1 commissioned rank for

Leading a unit in at least 2 actions to successfully defend, relieve or recapture a specific location/delivery/object/person


Presentation of rank & honours will be every day at 5.15pm – 5.45 on the Bank Holiday Monday.

Ready erected 20 x 5 Man Sahara Tented Barracks for those without campaign tents. Available on a “first come first served” basis.

Basic fight-safe weapons discounted to cost  - military side swords and/or basic fight-safe Brown Bess muskets.

Uniforms – Jacket and Hat can be loaned to you, please come with a White shirt and Black Trousers.
Uniforms for Militia, Revenue, Town Guard and Marines
